10 Play Parks
Air Raid Shelter Verge, Haven Drive/Aerodrome Road
Verges outside shops on Canterbury Road
Managed on Town Councils behalf:
The facilities at the Hawkinge Community Centre are provided by Folkestone Sports Centre Trust.
Sports Pavillion and Football Pitches is managed by the Hawkinge Community Football and Sports Trust.
Allotments are managed by The Hawkinge Allotment Society.
The Town Council organise and fund:
The Christmas Tree lights.
Civic Functions including the Mayor’s Charity Quiz Night
The Remembrance Service
The Town Council also:
Monitor planning applications with the Folkestone & Hythe District Council
Consult on policies from both government and local authority.
Promote the local economy.
Protect and strive to improve the environment.
Install and maintain bus shelters.
Install and maintain benches.
Give grant aid to small groups and organisations such as the Hawkinge Scout and Brownie groups, the newly formed Social Events Committee and support residents to set up self help groups.
